Race on Fourth Day of NIBC Tour of Holland Halted
On the fourth day of the NIBC Tour of Holland, the race was stopped during the third stage through Limburg. The stage started on time at the Tom Dumoulin Bike Park, but after about an hour, the riders indicated they wanted to abandon the race for safety reasons. The organization supports the decision of the riders and teams and has therefore decided to end today’s stage on October 17.
After a turbulent neutralized section, an oncoming car—having been stopped twice —chose to ignore the signal from the motorcycle marshals and continued driving. As a result, the riders refused to continue racing. The organization respects the wishes of the riders and team managers.
