The free sports and activity festival of The Hague is back!

On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September, you can try out all kinds of sports in and around the Sportcampus Zuiderpark, get to know local sports clubs, take part in fun activities, and enjoy music and delicious food. You’ll also find several cycling activities here. For example, a massive 35-meter-long BMX track! Or try a digital course on a racing bike, pedal your own smoothie together, or compete in a bike race against your friend.

The Stadsspelen are easily accessible by public transport. Did you know that children in The Hague can travel for free on all HTM trams and buses with their OV-chipkaart? Apply for a card for your child(ren) through the Kids voor Nikscampaign.

Group Bus Transport
Would you like to come to the Stadsspelen with a group but don’t have your own transport? No worries! On request, we can arrange free bus transport. This way, everyone can travel together, easily and safely, to the Sportcampus. Interested? Send an email to sportzomer@denhaag.nl.

Looking back at Stadsspelen 2023
In 2023, an impressive number of more than 12,000 enthusiastic participants came together to enjoy a weekend full of fun activities. The two-day sports and activity festival took place in and around the Sportcampus Zuiderpark. Visitors could try out more than 30 different sports, and all kinds of activities were organized, including bingo, a challenging obstacle course for young people, and inspiring clinics given by top athletes.

Dikke Banden Races

In the run-up to the NIBC Tour of Holland, four neighborhoods in The Hague will host free Dikke Banden Races for children aged 2 to 12 years old. Kids race against peers on any bike that is not a road bike – from balance bikes to tricycles, and from mountain bikes to regular city bikes. (Fatbikes are not allowed.) Every participant receives a shirt and a medal.
